About the role

A growing Mid-Atlantic poultry processor needs a Senior Packaging Buyer. You will lead packaging and dry ingredient purchasing for foodservice and retail, and manage one buyer. The role splits time between the Baltimore and Hanover sites.
Compensation: $95,000 to $110,000 base, with room up to $120,000+ for strong food manufacturing or protein experience.
What you'll do:
  • Own sourcing for boxes, corrugate, trays, film, and labels, plus dry ingredients such as spices.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms. Cut cost without hurting quality.
  • Manage and develop the packaging and dry ingredients buyer.
  • Forecast demand and set inventory levels to avoid stockouts and excess.
  • Qualify and audit suppliers for quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Build backup sources and plans for price swings and supply gaps.
  • Work daily with production, logistics, quality, and finance.
  • What you bring
  • Proven procurement experience, ideally packaging in food manufacturing.
  • Supplier negotiation and cost reduction results.
  • ERP or purchasing system experience and strong Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of food packaging quality and regulatory standards.
  • People leadership or mentoring experience.
  • Ability to pass a post-offer drug screen and background check.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
