About the role

We are partnering with a successful client company to find a hands-on Production Supervisor for 3rd shift to lead manufacturing operations in a specialty plastics compounding environment. This role oversees safety, quality, productivity, and customer service while supervising and developing production employees. The ideal candidate has manufacturing experience, strong leadership skills, and knowledge of extrusion equipment and processes.3rd shift: 11 pm - 7:30 amKey Responsibilities3rd shift Supervise, coach, train, and direct production employees. Ensure safe operation of production equipment and compliance with plant and corporate policies. Monitor product quality and adjust process settings to meet customer specifications. Operate and troubleshoot single-screw and twin-screw extrusion lines and related equipment, including pumps, blowers, pelletizers, and temperature controllers. Monitor equipment performance and respond to production issues as needed. Coordinate daily production activities to meet deadlines and productivity goals. Serve as the primary communication link between production operators and plant leadership. Maintain a team-oriented work environment while addressing performance and disciplinary issues as needed.
Required Qualifications: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Basic math and algebra skills. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office. Ability to write reports and maintain accurate documentation. Ability to use hand tools and lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous manufacturing experience. Experience operating extrusion equipment, particularly twin-screw extruders. Forklift operation experience.
