Part-time 1099 contract | Washington, DC area | Flexible schedule Streetwise Sales is seeking a territory sales representative based in the Washington, DC area to represent pro-audio, musical-instrument, lighting, DJ, and commercial-AV manufacturers throughout the Mid-Atlantic. Most day-to-day activity will take place around Washington, Northern Virginia, central Maryland, and Baltimore. Occasional planned trips will be required to Philadelphia and other parts of the territory.
WHAT YOU'LL DO: • Develop relationships with music retailers, pro-audio dealers, AV integrators, production companies, rental houses, and houses of worship• Visit existing customers and prospective accounts• Conduct product demonstrations, trainings, and sales presentations• Complete merchandising and training assignments at selected retail locations• Introduce new products, promotions, and dealer programs• Identify new accounts, projects, and sales opportunities• Follow up with customers and maintain activity in our CRM• Submit brief reports and photos after completed field activities• Participate in periodic team and manufacturer meetingsTERRITORY AND TRAVELThe territory includes Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, eastern Pennsylvania, and southern New Jersey. The representative must be based in the DC metro area. Most regular field activity will be concentrated around DC and Baltimore. Philadelphia and the outer portions of the territory will be covered through occasional planned trips based on customer needs and sales opportunities.*This is regional territory ownership, not continuous weekly travel throughout every state. TIME COMMITMENTThis is a flexible part-time position. Representatives should plan for approximately 3 to 5 field days per month to complete around 15 customer visits, demonstrations, trainings, or merchandising activities, plus some time for follow-up, scheduling, and CRM reporting. Several customer visits can often be scheduled on the same day. Most work takes place during normal weekday business hours in the DC–Baltimore area, with occasional planned regional trips. COMPENSATION• Paid customer visits, product demonstrations, trainings, and merchandising assignments• Representatives completing the required 15 monthly minimum field activities can earn at least $1,500 per month in activity compensation. As you grow the territory, the base pay and required road days may increase.• Plus sales commissions, no cap on what you can earn.• Additional incentives for opening new dealer accounts• Opportunity to build recurring commission income as the territory grows The complete compensation structure will be explained during the interview. Reps can earn anywhere from $24k-$100k a yearWHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR• Lives in the Washington, DC metro area• Has proven sales experience with pro audio, musical instruments, commercial AV, lighting, DJ equipment, live production, or a related field• Enjoys meeting customers and demonstrating products• Is comfortable developing new business and maintaining relationships• Is organized, responsive, and able to work independently• Has reliable transportation• Is available for weekday customer visits and occasional regional travel Previous manufacturers' representative experience is helpful but not required. We also welcome music-store employees, audio professionals, AV specialists, working musicians, DJs, production professionals, and account managers who want to move into territory sales.
