About the role
- Conduct on-site assessments of power-generation facilities
- Evaluate machinery, operations and equipment-related exposures
- Identify opportunities to reduce the frequency and severity of major losses
- Consult directly with utility and energy organizations
- Evaluate equipment including turbines, generators, transformers, boilers and ancillary equipment
- Provide technically sound, practical risk-reduction recommendations
- Partner with underwriting and other internal teams
- Participate in industry associations and remain current on evolving technologies and standards
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering – Mechanical or Electrical preferred 8+ years of experience associated with electric power generation
- Strong knowledge of major power-generation machinery
- Experience in risk engineering, machinery loss control, power-generation engineering, reliability, plant engineering or related technical disciplines
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skillsPE, CSP or other relevant designations are a plus
- Ability to travel approximately 50–60%Ideally located near a major U.S. airport
