This opportunity combines new business development with strategic account management, enabling you to advise commercial fleet clients, improve operational efficiency, and identify opportunities for growth. As Director of Fleet Strategies, you will work directly with senior decision-makers while shaping fleet policies, optimizing total cost of ownership, and expanding relationships across a defined geographic territory.Responsibilities:Develop new business within an assigned geography while achieving individual sales quotas, activity standards, and territory development goals.Own and manage selected client accounts, providing proactive consulting and strategic recommendations to improve fleet processes and reduce costs.Build relationships with C-level executives and expand client engagement both vertically and horizontally across accounts.Conduct quarterly business reviews, web training sessions, executive presentations, and ongoing consultative discussions with clients.Manage the new business pipeline in accordance with the defined sales process and maintain consistent activity levels.Identify, position, and close opportunities for additional fleet management services within existing accounts.Partner with client support teams to recommend vehicle selectors, vehicle orders, fleet services, lease charges, and cost-effective transportation solutions.Represent the organization at trade shows, sales meetings, and client or prospect visits, with travel of up to 50%.Must-Have Skills:Minimum of a four-year college degree.At least five years of sales experience, preferably in consultative B2B sales.Strong presentation, negotiation, closing, written, and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to execute sales objectives across new and existing accounts.Knowledge of fleet management, vehicle maintenance, total cost of ownership, lifecycle costs, insurance, fuel practices, and OEM volume programs.In-depth understanding of finance and capital markets.Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, time-management, and listening skills.Proficiency with Salesforce CRM, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, web platforms, mobile applications, and Microsoft Suite products.Ability to travel out of town up to 50% of the time.Nice-to-Have Skills:Previous fleet industry sales experience.Experience selling commercial vehicles or fleet management services.Existing relationships with multi-state commercial fleet clients.Experience presenting fleet technology platforms, online dashboards, mobile applications, or interactive sales tools.Knowledge of vehicle upfitting, anticipated mileage, applicable taxes, leasing, and fleet financing calculations.Experience developing strategic recommendations and consultative topics for quarterly client reviews.
