Senior Product Manager

About the role
GWBD Operations manufactures top quality plumbing products for the residential & commercial building industries in the USA under three heritage brands — PRIER Products (frost-proof wall/ground hydrants, sill faucets, hose bibs, boiler drains, lead-free plumbing brass, est. 1881), Stern-Williams (terrazzo mop sinks, drinking fountains, shower towers, est. 1962), and FIAT Products (mop service basins, shower floors, laundry tubs, commercial faucets, est. 1919) — sold through multiple channels including retail, wholesale distributors, mechanical/plumbing contractors, and institutional end-users. We're hiring a seasoned Senior Product Manager to own portfolios across our brands — driving the strategy, roadmap, and P&L that keep GWBD's products specified, stocked, and in the ground for another century. Success looks like faster time-to-market, stronger new-product ROI, and roadmaps the whole business can rally behind. WHAT YOU'LL OWN Category management and full P&L accountability for assigned product portfolios — pricing, margin, and portfolio rationalization. Market intelligence and Voice of the Customer processes that turn distributor, rep, contractor, plumber and engineer input into actionable insight. Product strategy and multi-year roadmap development aligned to channel and end‐user demand. NPD pipeline development and execution end‐to‐end, with a sustained focus on Vitality Index (% of sales from recent new products). Business case development — market sizing, ROI, and investment justification — for new products and platform extensions. Input to Long Range Planning (LRP) and the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), partnering with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Quality, and Operations. End‐to‐end launch leadership — rallying R&D, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Marketing, and Sales around a shared plan, then tracking performance against targets and driving course corrections when results fall short. WHAT YOU BRINGMinimum 7 years of product management experience, with a track record of owning P&L and product strategy. Technical or engineering background strongly preferred; manufacturing‐sector experience required, plumbing/building‐products industry a plus. Demonstrated success building and executing NPD pipelines and improving Vitality Index performance in a Stage‐Gate or similar process. Skilled in market research, VOC methodologies, and translating insight into product requirements and business cases. Experience contributing to Long Range Planning and Annual Operating Planning cycles. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA and proficiency with ERP/CRM tools such as Plex or Salesforce preferred. Strong cross‐functional leadership, negotiation, and communication skills; a curious, detail‐oriented, adaptable team player who thrives on multiple concurrent projects. Willing to work full‐time on‐site in Grandview, MO, with travel up to 30% to visit customers, reps, trade shows, and manufacturing facilities. Reports to Director of Product Innovation & Engineering.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
