Haugland Marine Service, asubsidiaryof Haugland Group, hasanimmediateopportunityforanexperienced Captain/Mastertojoinourteam. Theprimaryresponsibilityandauthorityfortheexecutionofallvesselassignmentsincluding, butnotlimitedto, planningthemostefficientandsafeoperationofthevesselanditscrew, implementingtheoperatingplaninacost-effectivemanner, andevaluatingandreportingtheresults. Itistheresponsibilityofallmasters toensurecompliancewithpoliciesandproceduresandtomeetallrequirementsinthe Safety Management System Manual(SMS)andtoproperlydocument. Masterswillhavethespecificobligationtoensurethatallpersonnelassignedtovesselsareprovidedwithinformation, instructions, anddirectionsnecessaryformeetingtheprogramobjectivesofsafety, environmentalprotection, andqualityservicethroughknowledgeableandcompetentexecutionofassignedtasks. Conductrequireddrills, training, safetymeetings, andmaintainsrecordsofsuch, percompanypolicy. Conductandensurescompliancewithvesselmaintenanceandinspectionrequirementsasprescribedbythecompany. Inspectvesseltoensureconformancewithsafetystandardsandmaritimeregulations. Workcloselywithcustomers, pilots, andappropriategovernmentagenciestoensuretheproperperformanceofthejob. Ensurepromptandaccuratereportingofallequipmentfailures, illnesses, incidents, accidentsanddamages. Maintaincurrentknowledgeofallmaritimelaws. Directandsupervisecrewmembersinsafeandproductiveoperationofthevessel, itsmachineryandequipment. Holdthecrewaccountablefortheiradherencetomaritimelaw, companypoliciesandprocedures, andtheirindividualperformance/productivity. Evaluateallcrewmembersinaccordancewith Companypolicyandtakeactionasnecessary. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Thoroughknowledgeofvesselhandlingandnavigationalskillscommensuratewithoperatingassignments. Workingknowledgeofpropulsion, auxiliaryanddeckmachinery. Mustpossessstrongwrittenandoralcommunicativeskills. Mustbeabletoeconomicallysuperviseallaspectsoftheoperationofthevessel, itscargoandcrew. Mustbeabletoworkindependentlyandwithoutdirectsupervision. Abilitytowithstandexposuretoallweatherconditions(rain, ice, snow, heat, wind, heavyseas, etc.)Abilitytoadapttoavarietyofworkschedulesandhoursincludingweekends, holidays, andnights. Willingtotakecallouts.
Qualifications: Mustpossessandmaintaina National Master/mate 200/500inland, NClicense, Masterof Towing, STCW, Radar Endorsement, MMC, andTWIC.3to 5years'experienceasa Masteror Operating Mateontowingvessels.
