Job Title:
Principal Fraud Analytics & Strategy LeadThis role is remote eligible in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel. However, individuals residing within a 60-mile radius of a USAA office will be expected to work on-site 4 days per week. The Client: I am currently partnering with a premier, mission-driven national financial services organization dedicated to serving the military community. A household name in the industry, they are recognized for their commitment to integrity and service. They are looking for a high-level subject matter expert to lead their defensive efforts against evolving fraud threats.
The Role:
As the Lead Fraud Strategy Analyst, you will serve as a visionary architect for the organization’s fraud prevention framework. You will not just monitor threats; you will drive the global strategy, policy design, and analytic capabilities that protect millions of members. This is a high-impact, influential role where you will collaborate with senior executives and represent the firm in broader industry fraud-prevention initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Own the end-to-end fraud strategy, from policy creation to the execution of advanced analytic rules.
Cross-Functional Influence: Lead discussions with technical and business stakeholders to translate complex objectives into robust solution strategies.
System Optimization: Manage and influence the implementation of large-scale fraud detection tools and automated process controls.
Emerging Threat Intelligence: Stay ahead of the curve by monitoring global fraud trends and adopting cutting-edge scientific methodologies to mitigate risk.
Executive Communication: Translate high-level data findings into actionable insights for C-suite leaders to drive informed business decisions.
Risk Governance: Ensure all fraud mitigation activities align strictly with internal compliance and federal risk standards.
What We’re Looking For
Experience:
At least 8 years in Financial Crimes or Fraud Strategy within a regulated financial institution.
Technical Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of fraud rules management and the ability to translate business requirements into technical logic.
Regulatory Mastery: Deep understanding of money movement regulations, including Reg E, Reg CC, UDAAP, FACTA, and Reg Z.Data Literacy: Proficiency in SQL, SAS, BI tools, and data visualization.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience. Exceptional Candidates Will Have:10+ years of Data Analytics experience specifically using Snowflake SQL or SAS.Hands-on experience with Python for AI/ML and exploratory data analysis. Specific expertise in Identity Proofing, member authentication, and onboarding security processes. A background in military service or experience as a military spouse is highly valued.
Work Environment:
This role offers remote flexibility within the continental U.S.; however, candidates living within 60 miles of the San Antonio hub will follow a hybrid schedule (4 days on-site).Why Apply?
