Summary:
The Senior Energy Engineer is responsible to conduct on-site energy audits, analyzes utility usage and facility processes, develops Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs), and provides recommendations to improve equipment and operational efficiency. The Senior Energy Engineer also manages energy projects, collaborates with utility partners to secure available incentives, and presents technical findings and energy-saving recommendations to industrial/manufacturing clients. This is a client-facing role requiring strong technical expertise, project management capabilities, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The position involves regular interaction with personnel at all levels of client organizations, travel to customer facilities, and hands-on evaluation of industrial and manufacturing environments. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in industrial/manufacturing environments or energy efficiency, energy management, and energy waste reduction. Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills, including. Ability to confidently present technical information and recommendations to individuals at all levels of an organization. Ability to develop rapport with clients and establish lasting lines of communication. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, web-based applications, and online meeting platforms. Valid driver’s license and safe driving history. Ability and willingness to travel to client locations, including day and overnight trips. Ability to safely navigate industrial and manufacturing facilities, including using ladders and scaffolding, climbing over and under equipment, and traversing large sites with varying surfaces.
Preferred Skills:
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification. Experience identifying, developing, and defining Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs).Working knowledge of utility energy efficiency and waste reduction programs. Experience working in manufacturing plants or industrial environments. Engineering experience in industrial and manufacturing/production settings. Utility or energy industry experience. ISO-based certification or related experience. Database and coding skills. Professional Engineer (PE) license.
