Project Manager – Design & Submittal
Position Summary:
The Project Manager – Design & Submittal manages design coordination and the submittal process for assigned projects from kickoff through final approval. This role serves as a key coordination point between customers, general contractors, engineers, and internal Design/BIM teams to ensure project requirements are understood, technical issues are resolved, and design deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the overall design and submittal process for assigned projects from initial design development through final approval.
Coordinate with internal Design/BIM teams, engineers, customers, general contractors, and other project stakeholders.
Review project requirements, drawings, models, specifications, and technical documentation to identify discrepancies or coordination issues.
Establish and maintain design and submittal schedules based on project milestones and customer requirements.
Coordinate preparation, internal review, engineering review, and submission of required project documents.
Manage RFIs, technical clarifications, review comments, revisions, and resubmittals through closure.
Lead design/submittal coordination meetings and communicate project status, priorities, responsibilities, and deadlines.
Track project milestones, open technical issues, approvals, and potential schedule risks.
Manage design changes and ensure approved revisions are properly communicated and documented.
Maintain alignment between approved design documents, engineering requirements, and information released to downstream teams.
Support continuous improvement of design and submittal processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field preferred.3+ years of experience in project management, design coordination, construction, engineering, or a related technical environment.
Experience with technical submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, BIM coordination, or engineering documentation preferred.
Ability to read and interpret construction or engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Strong project management, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with Procore, Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, or similar tools is a plus.
Data center, mission-critical, manufacturing, or construction experience is a plus.
