Foundedin 1997, Keyport serves restaurant, retail, foodservice, and distribution customers nationwide. Keyport is seeking a Business Development Manager who thrives on prospecting, buildingpipeline, opening new accounts, and creating growth opportunities from the ground up. This is a true hunter-focused sales position. The successful candidate will view prospecting as adaily discipline and will be comfortable consistently reaching out to prospective customers byphone, email, social selling, referrals, trade shows, and in-person outreach.
What You'll Do:
Proactively prospect for new business through phone, email, social selling, referrals, trade shows, and in-person outreach. Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through consistent daily activity. Convert cold and warm prospects into active Keyport customers. Conduct disciplined follow-up and effectively handle objections. Maintain a high daily volume of outbound calls (approximately 50+ per day) as a core, non-negotiable part of the role. Quickly qualify opportunities and prioritize prospects with strong revenue potential. Develop and grow a portfolio of smaller accounts with the opportunity to earn increasedcommission as those accounts grow. Develop strong knowledge of Keyport's seafood products and confidently represent thecompany's complete product offering. Track prospecting activity, follow-up, opportunities, and pipeline metrics consistently. Maintain strong CRM and pipeline management practices. Work closely with Credit, Sales Support, Production Management, Logistics, and otherinternal teams to support accurate and efficient customer transactions. Travel in blocks for customer visits, industry events, and trade shows as needed
What We're Looking For:
A genuine hunter mentality and enthusiasm for developing new business. Demonstrated success building a sales pipeline from scratch. Experience converting new prospects into paying customers. Comfort with high-volume outbound prospecting. Strong cold-calling and outbound communication ability. Excellent follow-up and pipeline-management habits. Resilience and persistence in a prospecting-heavy sales environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a close-knit, team-oriented environment. Professional demeanor when working with customers and internal partners.
Preferred Experience:
Food, foodservice, distribution, seafood, CPG, or perishable-product sales experience. Experience using Hub Spot or another CRM platform. Comfort working with commodity-priced products, where pricing and availability shiftwith market and supply conditions. Experience developing new accounts rather than primarily servicing an inherited territoryor book of business. Industry experience is helpful, but a strong track record of prospecting, pipeline creation, andnew-account acquisition is more important than having a seafood background. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder; we are unable to sponsor work visas forthis role. Location This is a full-time, in-person position based in Edmonds, Washington.
