About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager IV to lead multi-disciplinary engineering capital projects from planning through successful closeout. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Project Manager with a strong mechanical or civil/structural engineering background and proven experience managing capital projects within the oil & gas, refining, or petrochemical industries. The ideal candidate will hold an active Professional Engineer (PE) license and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, along with a strong track record of leading complex projects, managing contractors, and delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. LONG-TERM OPPORTUNITYThis contract is initially structured for two years, with strong potential for a long-term, multi-year assignment. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering 10+ years of project management experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager with sole accountability for project executionRESPONSIBILITIESThe Project Manager will be responsible for: Leading project teams and overseeing execution from planning through closeout Developing and implementing Project Execution Plans Leading FEL processes, gate reviews, and management approvals Developing contracting strategies and managing contractor selection, bidding, and award processes Managing project cost, schedule, procurement, and payables Managing engineering and construction contractors Controlling costs and minimizing claims and change orders Establishing project safety expectations and driving safety performance Managing project schedules and using them to drive performance Overseeing cost estimates and monthly cash-flow forecasts Managing vendors, fabricators, and specialty contractors Ensuring quality and QA/QC requirements are met Developing and managing project KPIs and performance metrics Leading project risk management activities Communicating project status to management and key stakeholders Ensuring timely and efficient project closeout Project Scope May Include: Pump Replacements, Equipment Repairs & Upgrades, Piping Projects, Multi-Disciplinary Engineering & Construction Projects, Capital Improvement Projects.
