Treasury Analyst TotalEnergies operates in a dynamic, innovative, and international environment that demands a proactive, adaptable, and solutions-oriented approach. This role requires a high degree of independence and initiative, with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and consistently meet daily deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate must be capable of building and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues across Finance and Back Office functions, collaborating with counterparts throughout the TotalEnergies Group, and communicating professionally and effectively with management as needed. The Treasury Analyst plays a critical role in managing cash operations and ensuring the accurate processing, settlement, and accounting of cash activities across the U.S. trading and LNG business units, including ATMI, TGPNA, and GLNG. Working closely with Back Office, Operations, Accounting, and other internal stakeholders, the Treasury Analyst helps ensure the timely and accurate receipt and disbursement of funds related to both trading and corporate activities. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and sound judgment to safeguard corporate assets, maintain effective controls, and minimize operational risk, errors, and fraud. Given the continued growth of the business, the combined volume of treasury transactions is expected to exceed 20,000 transactions annually.
Primary responsibilities include:
Support daily treasury operations, including:
Forecasting 3-day and 30-day cash positions and funding requirements.
Establishing trading and overhead counterparties in Sage and Medissys.
Monitoring upcoming payments and processing transactions through various systems for approval and release.
Monitoring cash activity to ensure timely and accurate settlement of transactions, particularly with critical ISO counterparties.
Manage aged debt reporting and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accounts receivable balances and cash allocations are properly maintained.
Serve as the primary point of contact with THUS Treasury, providing daily cash forecasts by 8:00 a.m. and confirming net funding requirements for all accounts.
Review daily payment activity for completeness and accuracy and ensure payments are submitted through Themis and banking platforms in accordance with internal deadlines, banking cut-off times, and vendor requirements.
Manage daily cash sweeps between Total Treasury and JP Morgan to optimize the U.S. cash pool.
Independently verify new wire payment instructions with counterparties and maintain accurate records within treasury systems.
Lead the daily review of cash activity, identifying missing receipts and coordinating follow-up actions with Back Office teams.
Oversee the cash allocation process and partner with Back Office personnel to resolve complex allocation and cash application issues.
Initiate foreign exchange requests, as required, for review and approval by the Treasury Supervisor.
Ensure compliance with internal control standards, SOX requirements, audit requests, and company policies.
Support the Treasury Supervisor and Financial Controller on treasury initiatives, process improvements, and special projects.
Accountabilities:
Apply strong accounting, treasury, and cash management principles to support daily all responsibilities with a high degree of accuracy while strictly adhering to internal controls and compliance requirements. Demonstrate ownership and accountability for daily activities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Proactively identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement. Effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of quality and attention to detail. Work independently with minimal supervision while remaining a dependable and collaborative member of the broader Finance and maintain productive working relationships across Treasury, Accounting, Back Office, Operations, and other business functions to support organizational objectives. Profil du candidat:3-5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: cash management, treasury operations, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and/or accounting, preferably within the energy marketing and trading industry. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with the ability to analyze and manipulate financial data efficiently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organizational and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
