Role Description: The Senior Payroll Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Texas, United States. This role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accurate and timely payment in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining payroll records, calculating wages, handling garnishments, managing payroll taxes, and coordinating with payroll service providers as needed. The Senior Payroll Specialist will resolve payroll discrepancies, respond to employee payroll inquiries, and prepare payroll reports for management and accounting. The role also involves implementing process improvements, supporting audits, and collaborating with HR and leadership to maintain consistent payroll policies and practices.
Qualifications: Strong payroll administration skills, including experience with payroll systems and maintaining accurate employee records. Hands-on experience with payroll processing and payroll services, including managing multiple pay cycles and data validation. Knowledge of payroll taxes and garnishments, with the ability to apply relevant laws and regulations correctly. Attention to detail, analytical skills, and proficiency with spreadsheet and accounting software. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain high ethical standards. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with HR, finance, and operations teams. Prior experience in a senior or lead payroll role; experience in public safety, government, or agricultural environments is a plus. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
