About the role

Overview: NST is currently seeking a highly motivated senior signal engineer for a remote work position. Preferred candidate is interested in all areas of application of signal engineering. The duties will include design and check of interlocking circuits utilizing both relay and microprocessor technology. Experience in both mainline and transit signal system applications is preferred. Assignments will include all levels of signal design including preliminary engineering hardware and software development as well as highway crossings.
Requirements:
  • The candidate has a minimum BSEE, BSET, or equivalent experience related to signal system design
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in signal design is required
  • Excellent communications skills

Desired Experience:
  • Interlocking hardware and software design utilizing both microprocessor and relays
  • Boolean and ladder logic software applications (Microlok, ElectrologIXS, VHLC, VPI)
  • Test procedure design and functional compliance simulation and testing
  • Highway Crossing applications (GCP, HXP, ElectrologIXS)
  • Preliminary Engineering including aspect chart and safe braking calculations
  • MicroStation ability preferred
