About the role
Job title: Service Technician — Electric Bikes, Scooters & Boards Last Mile NYC is hiring a full-time Service Technician for our Chelsea showroom. $19–$21/hour, Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30 AM–6:30 PM, all tools provided. You don't need electric vehicle experience — we'll teach you that. You do need hands-on mechanical skill and pride in safe, clean work. We're a specialty shop for high-end personal electric vehicles, carrying Segway, Super 73, Dualtron, Onewheel, Evolve, Zooz, and Jack Rabbit. Our customers come to us for expert guidance, test rides, and service they can trust, which puts the service bench at the center of everything we do. You'd be joining a small service team and reporting directly to our Service Manager. Just as important as your wrench skills: we want someone with a team mentality. Somebody who jumps in, helps whoever is next to them, and treats the shop's success as a shared job.
What you'll do:
Assemble new vehicles to manufacturer spec and quality-check every unit before a customer picks it up Inspect, diagnose, and service e-bikes, scooters, and boards with support from experienced techs Handle brakes, tires, batteries, alignments, and part swaps, taking on more complex work as your skills grow Test-ride vehicles to confirm assembly and repairs Talk with customers in person, over the phone, and over email and messaging about repairs, status, and pickups Log your work and keep the retail team current on job status and parts needs Help with receiving, unboxing, inventory, and keeping the shop organized Follow shop safety procedures for lithium batteries, electrical systems, and power tools
What we're looking for:
At least one year of hands-on experience in a bike shop, scooter or moto shop, powersports, auto, small engine, electronics repair, or similar Comfort with hand tools and willingness to learn electrical diagnostics Ability to safely ride and operate the vehicles we service Ability to lift and move up to 80 lb; anything heavier is a team lift or goes on the bike lift Comfort with everyday technology, including point-of-sale systems, laptops, tablets, and phones Clear, professional communication with teammates and customers Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail Must be 18 or older
Nice to have:
Bilingual English/Spanish — a real plus with our customers and our shop team Prior experience with electric bikes, scooters, or other personal electric vehicles Details$19–$21/hour, depending on experience Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, on-site at 651 W 27th St (Terminal Warehouse), New York, NY10:30 AM–6:30 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Fixed schedule year-round, no seasonal changes Five days a week, 10:30 AM–6:30 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch Weekends are our busiest days, so this schedule includes Saturday, Sunday, or both. Your five days may not be consecutive Your specific days are assigned when you start and stay fixed year-round — no rotating shifts, no seasonal changes Target start date: November 1
What we offer:
Paid time off, paid sick leave, and holidays off All tools provided Hands-on training in electric vehicle systems Opportunities for advancement To apply Send us a resume through Linked In, email it to info@lastmilenyc.com, or bring it by the showroom during business hours. Qualified candidates will be invited in for a single in-person interview. Last Mile NYC is an equal opportunity employer. Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
