About the role

A commercial and industrial mechanical services company is seeking a Commercial Service Operations Manager to lead daily operations and help grow its service and maintenance department. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can organize teams, improve processes, resolve customer issues and build an accountable operation. The department supports commercial HVAC/R, plumbing and mechanical services. Experience in these trades is valuable, but candidates with strong operational leadership and commercial customer service experience will also be considered.
What You’ll Do: Own daily department operations, including scheduling, coordination and service delivery. Work closely with technicians, project teams and leadership to keep work organized and address operational issues. Establish clear expectations and accountability for responsiveness, execution and customer satisfaction. Serve as a key contact for commercial and industrial customers, resolving concerns and building lasting relationships. Improve workflows and processes to support reliable service and department growth. Help develop the service and maintenance team as the operation expands. Identify opportunities to retain customers, expand existing relationships and grow service revenue.
What We’re Looking For: 5–7+ years of experience in operations, service delivery, department management or a related leadership role. Experience leading teams that serve commercial or industrial customers. Strong scheduling, organization, communication and problem-solving skills. A record of improving operations, developing teams and taking ownership of results. Confidence handling customer issues and coordinating practical solutions. Previous experience as an Operations Manager, Service Manager, Project Manager or similar leader.
Preferred Experience: Commercial HVAC/R, plumbing, mechanical services or facilities maintenance. Service agreements, maintenance contracts or recurring service operations. Building or expanding a service department. Direct construction or trade experience is preferred but is not required for a candidate with exceptional operational leadership and commercial customer service experience.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
