About the role
Providing technical leadership in a remote capacity, the full-time Senior Nuclear Criticality Safety Engineer will develop, review, and approve nuclear criticality safety evaluations for HALEU fuel operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks while mentoring junior engineers.
Key responsibilities:
Lead and approve nuclear criticality safety evaluations (NCSEs) for fuel fabrication, handling, storage, and transportation
Establish and validate criticality safety limits and controls for HALEU systems
Prepare and review technical documentation, including safety analyses and safety evaluation reports
Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering or a closely related discipline (Master's or Ph.D. preferred)
Minimum of 8 years of experience in nuclear criticality safety or reactor physics
Demonstrated experience leading complex NCSEs in regulated nuclear facilities
Proficiency with neutronics analysis tools such as MCNP or SCALE
Strong understanding of NRC regulations and ANSI/ANS-8 standards
