About the role

We are partnering with a leading global financial services and digital markets business seeking a commercially minded Finance Lawyer to join its expanding legal team. This is a highly transactional, client-facing role supporting a sophisticated markets platform spanning prime brokerage, derivatives, fixed income, digital assets, FX, repo, futures and options, and financing products. The successful candidate will work across both regulated and unregulated entities and partner closely with Trading, Sales, Product, Credit, Risk, Compliance and Operations. The position offers significant responsibility and exposure to complex transactions, new products and evolving markets.
Key Responsibilities: Draft, structure and negotiate sophisticated trading and financing documentation, including ISDAs, CSAs, MRAs, GMRAs, prime brokerage agreements, futures agreements and debt/financing agreements. Support the continued development of the firm's equity prime brokerage business, including cash equities, margin financing, securities lending, custody and clearing arrangements. Advise on the launch of new products, markets, jurisdictions and transaction structures. Provide legal support to regulated entities, including broker-dealer, swap dealer and futures commission merchant businesses. Advise on relevant SEC, FINRA, CFTC, NFA and exchange requirements. Develop and maintain legal templates, negotiation playbooks and scalable contracting processes. Work closely with commercial and control functions to provide clear, pragmatic advice on complex and time-sensitive matters. Manage multiple transactions and strategic initiatives with a high degree of autonomy.
Candidate Profile: Strong transactional experience within prime brokerage, derivatives, capital markets, structured finance or financing transactions. Experience negotiating documentation such as ISDAs/CSAs, MRAs, GMRAs, prime brokerage agreements, futures agreements and debt agreements. Experience gained at a leading law firm, financial institution, trading business or a combination of private practice and in-house. Exposure to a prime broker, broker-dealer, FCM, investment bank or comparable financial institution. A strong understanding of financial services regulation and the regulatory framework applicable to trading and markets businesses. Excellent drafting, negotiation and analytical skills. Strong commercial judgment and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance lawyer looking to join a sophisticated and growing markets platform at an important stage of its development. The role combines traditional institutional finance and prime brokerage work with exposure to newer asset classes and innovative financial products. The successful candidate will have significant interaction with senior commercial stakeholders and the opportunity to help shape the legal framework supporting the continued expansion of the business. Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
