A healthcare technology organization is seeking a Staff/Lead Software Engineer to help launch a new AI-enabled platform focused on revenue cycle management, claims workflows, and healthcare operations. This is a hybrid full-time opportunity with remote flexibility available for professionals located in the Chicago area. The organization is investing heavily in the next generation of AI-powered healthcare software and is searching for a senior engineering leader who can act as the technical anchor for a new platform. The ideal candidate enjoys owning outcomes, partnering closely with users and business stakeholders, and influencing both product strategy and technical direction.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experienceExperience leading architecture and technical direction
- Strong Python development experience
- JavaScript and/or TypeScript expertise
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and distributed systems
- Event-driven architecture experience
- Strong database design and SQL skillsAWS cloud platform experienceExperience collaborating directly with business stakeholders and product teams
- Strong communication and mentorship capabilities
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) experience
- Healthcare, HIPAA, EMR, or EHR experience
- Claims processing knowledge
- Eligibility, denials, collections, or A/R workflow experienceAI-driven application developmentLLM, Bedrock, or AI-agent orchestration experience
