About the role
- Make outbound calls regarding delinquent accounts
- Handle inbound calls from consumers in both English and Spanish
- Discuss outstanding balances and available resolution options
- Negotiate payments and payment arrangements within established guidelines
- Ask effective questions to understand the consumer's situation and identify appropriate solutions
- Overcome objections and work toward account resolution
- Secure payment commitments and accurately document arrangements
- Process payments in accordance with established procedures
- Maintain accurate and detailed account notes
- Follow up on payment commitments and assigned accounts
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced, goal-oriented call center environment
- Meet individual collection, productivity, and quality expectations
- Maintain professionalism during challenging financial conversations
- Follow all company policies, client requirements, and applicable collection regulations
- Bilingual English/Spanish required
- Previous third-party collections experience preferred, but not required
- Call center, sales, financial services, or customer service experience preferred
- Strong negotiation and objection-handling skills
- Comfortable discussing outstanding balances and requesting payment
- Strong communication and active-listening skills
- Goal-oriented and motivated by measurable performance
- Ability to remain professional during difficult conversations
- Strong computer skills and ability to navigate multiple systems
- Dependable attendance and strong attention to detail
