Battleground New York: Paid Political Canvasser

Job Responsibilities: Successfully complete required training Use scripts to communicate with members of the community Talk with voters through door-to-door canvassing about politics and encouraging them to vote Accurately enter data collected from voters into database on a mobile device/tablet Participate in phone banking to follow up with voters about your conversations with them Carefully complete daily reports Represent the campaign with the highest degree of professionalism and ethical conduct Participate in ongoing training sessions and team meetings

Qualifications: Experience working with the public such as customer service, restaurants, sales, brand ambassador, community outreach, or social service Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time while canvassing door-to-door Ability to transport and carry materials and equipment (10-15 lbs) Previous canvass experience is helpful, but not required as training will be provided to all employees Ability to follow script and meet daily goals Interest in politics Ability to connect with diverse communities and move people to action Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary Proven ability to be flexible and work in a fast-moving environment Ability to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends Must be able to use a smartphone/ tablet and learn how to use a database app Must have access to reliable transportation Bilingual in Spanish is a plus Canvassers will work in the field and be based out of our office in Rockland County.
