About the role
Our client is looking for an Assistant Director of Huma Resources to join their team. This role is a full time role located in Hobbs, NM. They will pay for relocation.
Responsibilities:
1. Department Leadership & Strategic Support Assist the HR Director in setting department goals and long-term HR strategies. Help develop and manage the HR department budget. Provide recommendations on policies, operations, and strategic decisions. Serve as Acting HR Director when the Director is absent.2. Oversight of HR Operations Oversee daily HR department operations. Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and employment laws. Track department statistics and performance metrics to improve efficiency. Monitor HR processes and recommend operational improvements.3. Staff Supervision & Development Supervise HR staff and manage their daily work. Provide: Training Coaching Performance evaluations Counseling and development Ensure staff meet department objectives.4. Management of Core HR Functions Oversee the major HR programs, including: Recruitment and hiring Employee relations Benefits administration Compensation Training and professional development Legal and policy compliance 5. Employee Relations & Workplace Investigations Advise department directors on: Employee performance issues Discipline Workplace conflicts Coordinate and document workplace investigations. Provide recommendations based on findings.6. Collaboration & Countywide HR Support Work with county departments, agencies, vendors, and the public. Help resolve HR-related issues across departments. Represent the HR department at meetings, presentations, and training events.7. HR Programs & Vendor Management Oversee and improve: Employee onboarding and orientation Retention programs Monitor vendor and contract services used by the HR department to ensure cost-effectiveness.
