Compensation Range: $18.58 - $28.31
Position Summary: Hiring Salary Range: $18.58 to $20.43 depending on qualifications. The Dispatcher serves as a Telecommunicator 24/7/365 in the Central Dispatch Center protecting the college enterprise as the primary point of contact for the Department of Public Safety.
Job Duties: Receives and processes emergency and non-emergency calls for service from the college population. Entering data into records management system/computer aided dispatch (CAD).Monitors the college-wide security camera system, analyzes video input, and determines the proper response to conditions or situations. Interacts with Tampa, Hillsborough County and Plant City 9-1-1 operators in processing emergency service requests. Logs the nature and source of all incoming and outgoing radio messages. Assists law enforcement officers and other officials in the recovery and analysis of archived records. Coordinating campus notifications to college leadership and representatives of various departments for response, mitigation, and recovery. Performs other similar and related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Associate's degree and one year of prior related experience. First Aid and CPR/AED required within 30 days after hire.
Preferred Qualifications: Customer service-related experience with phone etiquette.
