About the role
Maintains and modernizes a suite of Java-based backend processes that support current and future operational requirements. The Sponsor requires an experienced Java developer with the demonstrated ability to assess, maintain, and rewrite legacy Java applications without requiring foundational training or oversight — the candidate must be effective on day one. The Sponsor needs proven, hands‑on Java development skills to refactor and extend existing backend systems, with a preference for candidates who also bring experience in Spring Boot and REST API development to support web application integration. The work may be performed independently or within a team environment alongside existing Python development capability.7-10 years of professional software development experience. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).Core Technical Skills (Java & Backend).Understanding of application lifecycle management. Backward Development: Writing clean, scalable and efficient code to support business applications. Framework Utilization: Leveraging dominant frameworks like Spring Boot to build backend applications and REST APIs. Database Management: Writing and optimizing queries across relational and non‑relational databases. Testing & Debugging: Using testing libraries like JUnit and Mockito to ensure application stability.
