Paragon are seeking a Lead Data Engineer to help design and build the data infrastructure underpinning investment and research workflows at a world class trading house. This is a senior, hands-on engineering role working with large, complex financial and alternative datasets. Key responsibilities include:
Architecting and building scalable batch and real-time data pipelines Designing platforms for ingesting, normalising and distributing large financial and alternative datasets Building robust ETL/ELT frameworks with strong observability, lineage and data-quality controls Developing data models and APIs that make complex datasets easily consumable by researchers and investment teams Improving the performance, reliability and scalability of existing data infrastructure Designing distributed and event-driven data processing systems Python | SQL | Spark | Kafka | Airflow | Snowflake | AWS | Kubernetes | Distributed Systems | Data Modelling | Streaming & Batch Processing Please get in touch for more information.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
