Job Title: Boring Mill (Horizontal) Machinist
Location: Valencia, CA Shift: M-F, (OT required during the week and on Saturday/Sunday when needed)2nd Shift, 3:00 PM - 11:30PM (Will train on 1st shift 6am - 2:30pm for a 2-4 weeks)
Pay Rate: $21.00 - $35.00 per hour (DOE)
Position Summary: The ideal candidate will have CNC boring mill experience, a strong understanding of machining high-strength metals, and the ability to work to tight tolerances while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Primary Responsibilities: Set up and operate horizontal boring mill machines to machine high-strength steel components and plated surfaces (chrome and nickel). Operate one or more machines as needed. Ensure all machined parts meet dimensional tolerances according to blueprints, shop travelers, and work instructions. Perform visual and dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments. Deburr parts and perform edge-breaking and other finishing operations as required. Follow all safety, hazardous material, and environmental regulations. Meet production schedules and hourly performance goals. Maintain regular attendance and work full scheduled shifts.
Qualifications: Must be a US Person or US Citizen per ITAR Requirements Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop travelers, sketches, and technical documentation. Knowledge of plated surfaces including chrome, nickel, cadmium, and thermal spray coatings. Experience using precision measuring equipment, including: Micrometers Dial bore gauges Telescope gauges Height gauges Dial indicators General knowledge of machine setup, loading, and adjustments. Practical experience with machining practices, inspection methods, materials, tooling, and equipment used in aerospace manufacturing or repair environments.
Work Environment: Manufacturing shop environment within an FAA-certified aerospace repair facility.
