About the role

Our client is a real estate firm. They seek a Property Controller to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities: Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for a portfolio of commercial real estate assets Oversee general ledger activity, financial reporting, consolidations, and workpaper preparation while reviewing third-party property management reporting Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses in accordance with GAAP and IFRSAnalyze portfolio operating results, property performance, and financial metrics while presenting findings to management and stakeholders Review accounting activity related to acquisitions, dispositions, refinancings, intercompany transactions, management fees, and capital activity Partner with Asset Management and Property Management teams to support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and operating performance reviews Manage property accounting activities, including fixed assets, tenant billings, AP/AR oversight, bank reconciliations, and outsourced accounting functions Monitor cash management activities, including cash forecasting, funding requests, wire transfers, and capital expenditure planning Coordinate lender reporting, covenant compliance, financing transactions, and due diligence requests across debt facilities Develop financial reporting tools, improve accounting processes, and support system enhancements using Yardi, Excel, and other financial reporting platforms
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required 8+ years of real estate accounting experience Commercial property experience preferred Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, consolidations, and month-end close processes Experience with property accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and lender reporting Strong understanding of commercial real estate operations, lease accounting, and property financial analysis Yardi experience preferred JobID: 48523
