URI is just 30 minutes from Providence, RI and within easy reach of Newport, Boston, and New York City. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ POSITION IS IN-PERSON POSITION SUMMARY: The Biomedical & Pharmaceutical Sciences Department at the University of Rhode Island (URI) invites application of a postdoctoral position to conduct vaccine-related research. The successful postdoctoral fellow is expected to design and develop next-generation of vaccines based on our proprietary platforms and conduct in vivo animal studies to evaluate vaccine efficacy and safety. Post-doctoral fellowship is initially for one year, but it may be renewed annually based on progress.
Duties and Responsibilities: KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Design and develop next-generation vaccines and evaluate vaccine efficacy and safety in preclinical animal models. * Collect, analyze, interpret, and present experimental data using appropriate statistical methods. * Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. * Contribute to the preparation and writing of grant proposals. * Present research findings at laboratory meetings and scientific conferences. * Mentor and train graduate and undergraduate students in laboratory techniques, experimental design, and data analysis. * Collaborate with other investigators to advance research projects.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform other duties as assigned. LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT: Personal computers, printers, word processing, database management and spreadsheet software. Research computing and advanced data analysis.
