About the role
- Hands-on experience building or owning production integrations with billing platforms, ERPs, or enterprise tax and finance systems
- Working knowledge of at least one tax systems domain, such as indirect tax engines, corporate tax provision or compliance, withholding, research credit, or transfer pricing, gained at a tax technology practice, tax software vendor, or in-house tax systems team
- Proficiency writing production-grade Python with strong testing and code review habits
- Strong SQL skills for building reconciliations and validating data end to end
- Experience building or operating SOX-aware data flows, such as IPE, control totals, or documented and testable pipelines
- Ability to translate business and tax requirements into technical specifications
- Confidence working directly with vendors, auditors, engineers, and tax stakeholders
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment
- 7+ years in tax technology, finance systems engineering, or a closely related field
- Experience with warehouse and analytics engineering tools such as dbt or BigQueryBreadth across multiple tax domains, including sales and use, VAT/GST, provision, withholding, research credit, and transfer pricing
- Experience building with LLMs or applying AI to finance or tax work
- Exposure to marketplace, usage-based, or platform billing models
- Experience taking over vendor-built systems and hardening them for long-term ownershipUAT design and change management experience on finance systems implementations
- Experience building internal tools for non-technical finance or tax users
