About the role

Description: An Equipment Service Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, prioritizing, assigning work and supervising the training and work of Crane Technicians engaged in the maintenance, repair and operational activities of mobile cranes and other heavy industrial equipment. The Equipment Service Manager is also responsible for supervising the maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, digital, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, diesel engines and remote telemetering monitoring of crane circuits and components. The individual typically works under limited supervision and expected to work long hours, and subject to working weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities: Supervises, plans, schedules, sets priorities, and assigns work to a crew of Crane Technicians engaged in the maintenance, repair and operational activities of mobile cranes and other heavy industrial equipment. Manages the day-to-day operation of the Shop. Procures materials and equipment necessary for Crane Technicians to perform their work. Coordinates work projects with Branch Managers to ensure projects are completed in an efficient and timely manner. Maintains accurate computerized records for expenditures, timekeeping, damages, work tracking, scheduling, planning, and crane utilization. Arranges and conducts training for Crane Technicians to maintain and upgrade technical and procedural knowledge and skills. Monitors and modifies preventive maintenance program. Performs other tasks as assigned by management. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Essential: Knowledge of mobile cranes, electrical electronic, digital, mechanical, and hydraulic maintenance. Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and supervise the activities of the Crane Technicians. Read electrical, electronic, and hydraulic blueprints. Use of tools and equipment used to maintain and repair mobile cranes and other heavy industrial equipment. Must be proficient with basic computer skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. Must have proficient oral and written communication skills. Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and fit for duty test. Desired: Prefer candidates with at least an associate degree. Prefer candidates with at least 4 years of crane maintenance experience. Prefer candidates with some supervisory experience.
