About the role

The Candidate Source, a Richmond-based light industrial and manufacturing staffing firm, is hiring a part-time Payroll & Accounting Assistant. You'll take over the weekly admin work in our finance department: entering data in Quick Books Online, processing wage garnishments, and following up on receivables. This is a good fit for someone who has payroll experience, is organized and detail-oriented, and wants flexible part-time work. Schedule / Hours 5–10 hours per week, varying with payroll and month-end volume Due to the sensitive nature of the information this role is in-person Flexible hours, as long as weekly deadlines are met
What you'll do: Process 50+ wage garnishments per month: log incoming orders, complete employer answers, set up withholdings in payroll, and send payments before their deadlines Import weekly payroll and expense journal entries from our operating software into Quick Books Online Import weekly invoices and revenue into Quick Books Online Categorize transactions each week and pull standard reports for the CEORecord customer payments, send monthly statements, and follow up on past-due balances Keep a garnishment log showing each order's status, deadline, and payment history Other finance/payroll duties as necessary.
What you bring: Experience processing wage garnishments, or payroll administration work that included them Experience entering transactions in Quick Books Online Strong attention to detail and a track record of meeting hard deadlines Discretion with confidential employee and financial information Comfortable calling customers about past-due balances Within commuting distance of Richmond, VAWhy you'll like it$25-$30 per hour, depending on experience Real flexibility.
