Entry-Level Welding Inspector / NDT Technician Starting pay $18.00 - $24.00/ hour depending on experienceTTL is looking for entry-level welding inspectors and non-destructive testing technicians in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This role supports projects throughout Alabama, performing construction inspections that include evaluating, monitoring and testing to deliver accurate data and high-quality service to our clients. In this position, you will play a key role in nondestructive testing and special inspections, helping ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and project experience or welding school would be a plus but not a required. What You'll Do: Performs visual testing (VT) of structural welds to verify compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications Conducts nondestructive testing (NDT), including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)Performs coating inspections and testing to ensure adherence to applicable industry standards and specifications Inspects structural steel and bolted connections for compliance with relevant codes and project requirements Follows established procedures, performs accurate calculations and documentation, and maintains effective working relationships with coworkers, clients, and contractors Prepares detailed daily inspection reports and client documentation; operates with moderate supervision
Requirements: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or degree preferred with emphasis in welding, construction, physical sciences or math Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50+ lbs Must be able to work in outdoor environments in varying weather conditions, including heat and cold Basic computer skills and ability to use related technology and software Ability to safely operate aerial lifts and work at heights as required
