Job Description: Job Description Enterprise Electrical Contractors Inc. is seeking an experienced Connecticut Licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our team. This role is ideal for a skilled electrician who can independently complete electrical installations, troubleshoot electrical systems, interpret blueprints, and lead small crews while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Responsibilities: Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in accordance with local, state, and National Electrical Code requirements. Plan and complete electrical installations efficiently while minimizing material waste. Read and interpret blueprints, design drawings, diagrams, specifications, and written instructions. Layout and install wiring, conduit, fixtures, electrical equipment, and related components. Inspect and test electrical systems, wiring, lighting, and equipment to ensure safe operation and code compliance. Diagnose electrical problems, safety hazards, and code violations and complete necessary repairs. Plan wiring pathways, fixture locations, and other electrical system components for commercial and residential projects. Lead and supervise small crews while coordinating daily work activities on assigned projects. Maintain accountability for company tools, equipment, and materials assigned to the work vehicle and job site. Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe. Follow all company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communication, and Confined Space policies. Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and other trades on the job site.
Required Qualifications: Active State of Connecticut Journeyman Electrical License required. Must be at least 18 years old. Valid driver's license in good standing and ability to meet company insurance requirements. Strong knowledge of electrical installation, troubleshooting, and applicable electrical codes. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation. Ability to safely use electrical tools, testing equipment, ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and other job-site equipment. Ability to correctly identify conductor phasing and voltage color-code designations. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to pass required background screening and drug/alcohol testing.
Physical & Work Requirements: Ability to lift and carry tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to work from step ladders, extension ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts, and elevated work areas. Ability to work in restricted or confined areas, including switchgear rooms, manholes, vaults, trenches, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, and attics. Ability to work a standard 40-hour workweek with overtime or night shifts when required. Comfortable working in varying job-site and environmental conditions.
Preferred Qualifications: OSHA 30 certification. NFPA 70E training. Previous experience leading or supervising electrical crews. Commercial and residential electrical installation experience.
