Overview: Sim Ventions is searching for an entry-level Systems Engineer (SE) to join our team in support of the Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control System (TTWCS). The SE will work on a diverse team with fellow Sim Ventions’ Systems Engineers and government personnel. The ideal candidate will have experience with MBSE methods and tools, developing system designs and requirements, and participating in working groups and integrated product teams (IPT). The ideal candidate will be able to perform core engineering tasks (develop requirements, define interface updates, update architectural diagrams, etc.). An understanding of MBSE and how to apply its methods and principles to completing engineering tasks is highly desired.
Travel: Travel to NSWC Dahlgren Division once every week to two weeks. Clearance: An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.
Requirements
Must have: US citizenship. Must be detail oriented. Must be able to learn quickly. Must be able to effectively communicate and disseminate information verbally and in writing. Must be able to work on a diverse team with other contractors and government personnel.
Responsibilities: Determine impacts on the weapon system, requirements, and other design specifications during engineering development. Review, analyze, and create requirements at multiple levels (SSS, SSDD, SRS, HRS) for weapon system capability and functionality. Develop Candidate Change Packages (CCP) to engineer new system capabilities and document design details and impacts in models and engineering documents. Review, analyze, and develop system architectures, utilizing modeling tools such as Magic Draw. Provide human factors engineering, prototyping, and analysis support for the development and maintenance of the system user interface requirements and specifications (e.g., the Human Computer Interface (HCI) Design Specification). Review, analyze, provide inputs, make updates, and adjudicate comments for external interface documents. Create change requests (CR) and resolve CRs related to system problems and/or discrepancies between design documentation and system functionality. Provide engineering expertise during IPT meetings, Engineering Review Boards (ERB), Deficiency Review Boards (DRB), Change Review Boards (CRB), and Interface Working Groups (IWG) by performing package development, package review, and comment and documentation of results. Attend and actively engage with others at weekly team meetings and other scheduled meetings. Communicate meeting and engineering summaries verbally and in writing, including the ability to provide technical briefs, defend engineering and design decisions, present at meetings, and provide tasking and schedule statuses.
Preferred Skills and Experience: Engineering experience, especially with DoD programs or weapon systems, in concept definition, architecture development, requirements definition, and initial and detailed system design activities. Understanding of MBSE and experience applying its methods and principles to completing engineering tasks. Experience using Cameo and/or other modeling tools to perform system engineering tasks. Experience using Jira to document and track CRs as well as tracking tasks. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Project, Visio, and Word.
Education: A Bachelor’s of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
Compensation: Compensation at Sim Ventions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements. The projected annual compensation range for this position is $60,000 - $100,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that Sim Ventions offers.
