About the role

The Opportunity: My client is seeking a relationship-driven Sales + Business Development professional to support the continued growth of a middle market M&A advisory practice. You will work with qualified inbound business owners who are actively evaluating a sale, recapitalization, liquidity event, or other strategic alternative, and guide strong-fit opportunities toward signed sell-side advisory engagements. This is a consultative sales role built around trust, business judgment, and disciplined follow-through. You will qualify owner interest, understand strategic and financial objectives, communicate the value of the advisory process, and create a clear path forward without relying on transactional or high-pressure selling.
What You Will Do: Respond to and conduct consultations with qualified inbound business-owner opportunities. Develop a clear understanding of each company, the owner’s priorities, transaction goals, timing, and expectations. Assess fit and transaction readiness based on business profile, objectives, valuation expectations, and advisory needs. Present the firm’s sell-side M&A process, positioning, deliverables, and client experience in clear, credible language. Build confidence and trusted relationships with founders, owners, and senior executives throughout the decision cycle. Navigate questions and concerns related to timing, valuation, fees, confidentiality, and the advisory process. Create momentum through thoughtful follow-up, decisive next steps, and consistent communication. Move qualified opportunities from discovery through proposal discussions and signed engagement letters. Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline stages, forecasts, next steps, and conversion activity. Partner with senior bankers to prepare for handoff and preserve continuity once an engagement is secured. Share practical feedback on lead quality, client sentiment, messaging, market conditions, and conversion opportunities.
What You Bring: Experience in consultative B2B sales, business development, financial services, or professional advisory work. Demonstrated success managing high-value opportunities and guiding sophisticated decision-makers through longer sales cycles. Strong discovery, presentation, relationship-building, negotiation, and objection-handling skills. Executive presence and the ability to communicate credibly with founders, business owners, and C-suite leaders. Strong business acumen and curiosity about how privately held companies create value. Disciplined follow-up, organization, pipeline management, and accountability in a remote work environment. Comfort working within a performance-driven, 100% commission-only compensation model. Experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, business brokerage, finance, consulting, accounting, wealth management, or related professional services is preferred. Full-time remote availability from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time.
Why Join: You will have access to qualified inbound opportunities, meaningful conversations with accomplished business owners, close collaboration with experienced M&A professionals, and uncapped earning potential tied directly to performance.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
