About the Role:
The Company is seeking to fill the Cory Chair in Political Philosophy, Policy, and Law, an endowed professorship dedicated to the study of democracy and constitutional governance. The successful candidate will be part of a distinguished faculty and is expected to have a strong background in scholarship, teaching, and service, with a focus on themes such as liberal democracy, constitutionalism, political economy, legal thought, and the historical development of law and legal institutions. The role involves a commitment to undergraduate education, collaboration across academic boundaries, and a dedication to the values of the institution, including intellectual pluralism and open inquiry. Ideal candidates for the Cory Chair will have a distinguished record in their field and be able to demonstrate a commitment to the mission of the institution, which is rooted in the formation of citizen-leaders through a liberal arts education. The position is open to outstanding scholars from various disciplines, and the search is multi-disciplinary in nature. The Chairholder will be affiliated with one of the programs in the College that focus on constitutionalism and democracy or political philosophy, policy, and law. The role is not only academic but also involves a strong sense of institutional citizenship and the ability to contribute to the development of innovative programs.
