About the role

Job Title The holder of the position is responsible for producing economic analyses on the economic functioning of electricity markets. They are a driving force and actively participate in discussions on efficient energy policy instruments, particularly through the following themes: Public policies related to electricity production capacities Balance and planning of the electricity system Functioning of electricity markets Evolutions of electricity networks They participate in interministerial discussions on these topics. They are expected to work with other TRECO3 members on cross-cutting issues of the office. They are also expected to work with other DG Trésor offices (e.g. POLSEC2, TRECO1, PZC, EUROPE) as well as other administrations (e.g. DGEC, DB, DGE, SGPE, SGAE, RPUE) or institutions (e.g. CRE). They contribute to the preparation of meetings of European or international bodies when energy policy topics are discussed, in liaison with the relevant DG Trésor offices. Main activities: Consulting Studies, research Writing Monitoring Functional relations: Other services of the direction Other directions Ministerial cabinets Other ministries Private sector Examples of recently handled files/some upcoming files: Regulation of existing nuclear power Support scheme for new nuclear power Development of interconnections Future of gas networks Profile Sought The profile sought is that of an experienced agent with strong skills in energy economics and an interest in the electricity sector. Previous professional experience in the energy sector is required. Knowledge of the functioning of the public administration would be an asset.
