About the role
Prospera Executive has been instructed on a CFO search for a PE backed specialist distribution business, with multiple operating sites across the US and a clear plan to scale revenue ahead of a sponsor exit. The business is entering the final phase of its investment cycle. The CFO will report directly to the CEO and act as a true strategic partner. They will own the numbers, lead exit readiness and help develop the wider leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as strategic partner and sounding board to the CEO, providing financial clarity and commercial decision support. Rebuild the financial model and own budgeting, forecasting and KPI reporting. Personally deliver investor grade reporting, including weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting and 13 week cash flow. Lead preparation for a sponsor exit, working with the Board, investment team and advisers through the process. Coach and develop an experienced accounting team, embedding robust controls and technical rigour. Support and mentor operational and commercial leaders as the business scales.
Ideal Candidate:
Current or former CFO with PE backed experience and a proven track record of leading a sponsor exit. Hands on operator who is comfortable building models and reporting personally, without a large team underneath. Strong understanding of technical accounting. Credible with a demanding Board and able to act as a genuine partner to the CEO.Experience in distribution, wholesale or multi site industrial businesses preferred. This is an opportunity to take ownership of the finance function through a defined exit, with meaningful upside tied to the outcome.
