- High school diploma or equivalent
- Consideration will be given to candidates who:
- Have submitted their COA (Certified Ophthalmic Assistant) application and are awaiting a testing date, orHave attempted the COA examination but have not yet achieved a passing score
- Experience
- Obtain and document patient history, chief complaints, and collect clinical information including comprehensive medical, medication, allergy, family and social history for provider review
- Perform ophthalmic testing, diagnostics, and assist in clinical procedures
- Administer medications (e.g., eye drops) per scope of practice
- Accurately document findings in the EMR and scribe provider exams
- Educate patients and assist with informed consent and surgical preparation
- Assist providers with in-office laser procedures and minor surgeries
- Maintain sterilization, cleaning, and inventory of instruments and equipment
- Manage referrals, forms, and co-management tracking
- Monitor provider schedules for accuracy and efficiency and assist with triage of calls/messages
- Participate in staff training and onboarding
- Attend required meetings and educational sessions
- Provide coverage to all providers across locations as needed
- Support departmental workflow and team collaboration
- Pay Range (dependent on experience):Uncertified: $18.92 - $29.98/hour
- Certified: $20.85 - $33.04/hourO.R. Certified: $22.98 - $36.40/hour
