Job Title: Operator 1 - Military Assembly Location: Tinley Park, Illinois Schedule: 1st Shift, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Pay: 17.00
Job Type: Full-Time, Non-exempt Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Operator 1 to join the Military Assembly department in Tinley Park, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for the precise assembly and rigorous testing of specialized products. Success in this position requires high mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret technical documents, and a strong commitment to producing quality work in a safe environment. As part of your onboarding and development, you will also complete an in-house wire soldering certification.
Core Responsibilities: Execute precise assembly tasks according to manufacturing production orders by accurately cross-referencing Bills of Materials (BOM), blueprint drawings, and standard operating procedures. Set up test fixtures and perform comprehensive acceptance testing on assembled Display products to ensure they meet strict quality standards. Conduct thorough cable testing utilizing both automated Cable Scan equipment and manual testing methods. Safely and expertly operate a variety of assembly tools, including dial torque wrenches, handheld power drills, screwdrivers, and socket wrenches. Maintain highly accurate production, testing, and quality records throughout the assembly process. Strictly adhere to safe operating procedures and maintain excellent housekeeping to keep equipment and work areas clean. Proactively identify and promptly report any safety hazards to the Production Supervisor. Qualifications & SkillsEducation: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Technical Skills: Working knowledge of basic PC operations and proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprint drawings. Mechanical Aptitude: Demonstrated experience and comfort using small hand and power tools.
Certifications: Must be willing and able to complete an in-house wire soldering certification. Export Control (ITAR)
Requirements: Separate from standard employment eligibility verification (Form I-9), this role is subject to U.S. export license requirements. Because this position requires access to specific technology, software, and hardware, ITAR or EAR clearance may be required before certain non-"U.S. persons" can be granted access to the facility or work materials.
