About the role
- Setting up and maintaining Commercial Real Estate Loan files.
- Assuring all required data is ascertained and analyzed.
- Entering relevant loan and property information into the loan origination system
- Ordering credit report, appraisal, Phase I (if required), and flood certification.
- Reviewing file for accuracy and completeness.
- Process loan applications and facilitating loan closings by interacting both in person and over the telephone with borrowers, attorneys, appraisers, engineers, title companies and brokers.
- Maintain accurate and current information on all applications by comparing verified information to that originally provided.
- Maintain and update departmental reports relative to new CRE loan origination as necessary.
- Resolve problem situations prior to closing by communicating with brokers, borrowers, internal stakeholders and/or attorneys.
- Respond to inquiries regarding mortgage loans by providing requested information via telephone or in person through use of reference source material.
- Maintain an efficient flow of work in the Department by word processing and proof reading reports, documents, forms, letters, memos, special projects and photocopying.
- Process various checks and wires received and analysis of monthly general ledger accounts by comparing departmental records to bank's general ledger, making changes as required.
- Ensure that all bills/expenses are promptly paid by initiating vouchers for payment through the accounts payable area.
- Ensure an organized method of record keeping and recording all departmental material by updating various manuals and setting up and maintaining files for retention.
- Provide guidance to other departments in the absence of supervisor/manager to ensure a continuous flow of work.
- Assist in closing CRE loans as needed.
- Assist when necessary by performing other related duties, which may become necessary from time to time.
