About the role

AKFA Aluminum Solutions is seeking a licensed Industrial Electrical Contractor for a 5-month installation and support a temporary 50 Hz power supply system for European welding and tank assembly equipment at our facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Production Ave, 1309, Bowling Green, Kentucky 42101, USTasks Site Assessment & Power Connection: Conduct a detailed site survey to identify a suitable connection point to the existing 460/480V, 3-phase, 60 Hz electrical system. Verify available electrical capacity to support a maximum simultaneous load of 40 kW.Determine optimal cable routing, sizing, and installation methods. System Supply & Installation: Supply and install input circuit breakers, feeder cables, local disconnect switches, protective devices, and grounding components. Install and connect a 50 kVA / 40 kW frequency converter to convert 460/480 VAC (60 Hz) input to 380/230 VAC (50 Hz) output. Set up temporary power distribution panels providing 380V 3-phase (50 Hz) and 230V single-phase (50 Hz) power with separate Neutral and Ground connections. Install European-compatible plugs, industrial connectors, and receptacles for 230V and 400V welding equipment. Load Balancing & System Labeling: Evenly balance all 230V single-phase loads across phases L1, L2, and L3.Apply clear, durable labeling to all cables, circuit breakers, receptacles, disconnects, distribution panels, and connected machinery. Testing, Commissioning & Documentation: Perform comprehensive testing under active welding loads, verifying input/output voltages, 50 Hz frequency, phase rotation, current per phase, grounding resistance, and voltage stability. Provide a detailed commissioning report, a single-line electrical diagram, and an as-built inventory list of all installed equipment and protection devices. Ongoing On-Call Support (~5 Months):Provide ongoing electrical troubleshooting, emergency site response, and power restoration during tank assembly operations. Perform repairs or replacements of cables, plugs, receptacles, breakers, and connections. Re-inspect loading and phase balance when connecting or relocating additional welding equipment. Perform complete system decommissioning and removal of temporary electrical installations upon project completion.
Requirements:
  • ValidElectrical Contractor License in the State of Kentucky .Proven hands‑on experience with 480V 3-phase industrial electrical systems, 60/50 Hz frequency converters, and welding machinery.
  • Required commercial insurance coverage.
  • Full compliance with applicable electrical codes, local regulations, and OSHA safety standards (OSHA 1910.332).Ability to obtain municipal electrical permits and coordinate required inspections in Bowling Green, KY.Benefits
