Job Description: Dallas, TX 75244 | 1st Shift | $20–$28/hr DOE | Evaluation-to-Hire We are looking for an experienced Shipping & Receiving Clerk with strong LTL and full truckload shipping experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. This is not a basic small-package shipping position. The person in this role will help prepare and coordinate shipments of large, heavy metal tubing and other industrial materials, including palletizing, securing freight, preparing shipping paperwork, scheduling trucks, and completing ERP/WMS transactions.
What You’ll Be Doing: Prepare, package, palletize and secure large/heavy materials for shipment Coordinate LTL and full truckload (FTL) shipments Schedule carrier pickups and deliveries Prepare and verify BOLs, shipping documents, labels and shipment information Receive incoming materials and verify quantities against paperwork and purchase orders Complete shipping, receiving and inventory transactions in an ERP/WMS system Track shipments and follow up with carriers when needed Identify shortages, damaged material, paperwork problems or shipment discrepancies Work with production, purchasing, warehouse and carriers to keep material moving Help with cycle counts and inventory accuracy Load/unload freight using forklifts and other material-handling equipment
What We’re Looking For: LTL and/or FTL shipping experience strongly preferred Experience packaging and shipping large, oversized or heavy materials Experience scheduling freight carriers and truck pickupsERP or WMS experience — must be comfortable completing shipping, receiving and inventory transactions Strong BOL, shipping documentation and freight paperwork experience Forklift/material-handling experience Strong attention to detail with quantities, labels, paperwork and system entries Someone who thinks ahead, catches problems early and keeps shipments moving without having to be constantly told what to do Manufacturing, metal, fabrication, industrial distribution or similar experience strongly preferred Stable work history preferred Ideal Background Someone coming from manufacturing, steel, metal fabrication, industrial distribution, pipe/tubing, machinery, building materials or another environment where freight is large, heavy and regularly shipped by LTL or full truckload.
