Store Manager Job Duties: Hire, train, supervise, coach, and direct all store employees. Greet customers and appropriately recommend and promote specials and limited-time products. Conduct regular store reviews to ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures. Ensure employees consistently provide superior customer service in all areas. Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment. Verify merchandise is billed correctly and that POS pricing reflects actual shelf prices. Ensure sales policies and cash management procedures are strictly followed. Effectively address and resolve customer concerns. Order and receive merchandise from outside suppliers while monitoring inventory levels and minimizing out-of-stock items. Ensure all delivered merchandise is listed and priced correctly on invoices and that incoming merchandise is physically counted before invoices are signed. Maintain overall store cleanliness, organization, and operating standards. Maintain proper security measures for the protection of merchandise, employees, and cash. Review employee shift sheets for cash reconciliation, shift verification, and accurate inventory counts. Assign cleaning and operational tasks by shift and follow up to ensure completion. Take ownership of store performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve operations, staffing, customer experience, and profitability.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Store Manager is responsible for leading a multi-faceted retail operation and driving overall store performance. This position requires a high-performing, self-motivated leader who can successfully manage daily operations with minimal supervision while maintaining strong company standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset, take ownership of the business, identify opportunities for improvement, and make sound decisions that positively impact sales, profitability, employee performance, and the customer experience.
Key responsibilities include: Directly drive sales and profits to meet company goals and budgets. Lead all aspects of store operations while maintaining a high level of accountability and ownership. Operate effectively with minimal supervision and independently resolve day-to-day operational challenges. Proactively identify opportunities to improve sales, productivity, customer service, staffing, and overall store performance. Build, develop, and maintain a high-performing team. Ensure overall store conditions meet company standards, including cleanliness, sanitation, customer service, merchandising, and operational readiness. Ensure all safety procedures are consistently followed. Enforce company policies and procedures and properly document violations for Human Resources. Ensure all employees are paid for all hours worked and that no employee performs work off the clock. Develop and maintain weekly schedules while managing labor and avoiding unnecessary overtime. Ensure employees are properly trained on emergency and safety procedures, including gas shutoff procedures and responses to robbery, fire, and other emergencies. Demonstrate sound judgment, initiative, and accountability in making decisions that support the success of the store.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: REQUIREMENTSThe minimum qualifications preferred for this position include:
Minimum of 3 years of successful retail management experience. Proven ability to lead a high-volume or multi-faceted retail operation. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing teams. Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision. Strong sense of ownership, initiative, and an entrepreneurial approach to managing the business. Ability to identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Mathematical and analytical skills, including experience reviewing profit and loss statements and store reports and using data to drive improvements. Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel. Normal Work Schedule45–50 hours per week. Available by phone as business needs require. Available to work additional hours when staffing needs arise. Stores operate 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements: Standing and moving on dry and/or moist floors for extended periods, up to 8 hours in a single interval. Exposure to temperatures ranging from approximately 32 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, sitting, and grasping at varying frequencies and weights depending on the task being performed. Exposure to dirt, dust, and other substances that may soil clothing. Exposure to cleaning chemicals commonly found in convenience and foodservice environments. Expected attire is business casual or appropriate company-logo apparel.
