About the role

Welder HelperThe Welder Helper supports the lead welder by preparing materials, setting up equipment, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace. Key duties include grinding, cleaning, moving parts, and operating tools. Assist lead welder in the fabrication, repair, and maintenance of metal structures and equipment. Clean and maintain welding equipment and work area. Operate hand and power tools. Assist in the layout and assembly of metal components. Preparing welding machines, setting up torches, gas cylinders, and extension cords. Holding parts in place, aligning pieces, and assisting with complex, multi-person tasks. Perform other duties as assigned by lead welder. Removing slag, rust, and excess metal using grinders or wire brushes.
Preferred: Experience in welding and metalworking, as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints and : Valid Louisiana Driver's License, high school diploma or equivalent, able to work under varying conditions, ability to lift heavy objects.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7am-4pm. Call outs as needed.
