About the role
Viridan Group is working with an industry-leading Battery Energy Storage developer and IPP. The company has successfully executed over 1 GWh of projects and has a multi-GW development pipeline across the US.The firm is hiring a Lead Engineer to join its growing behind-the-meter solutions team. This position will work cross-functionally, leading technical discussions with large-load customers (hyperscalers, neoclouds, colos) while also working closely with commercial teams to shape strategy, value propositions, and potential BESS solutions for BTM customers.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the lead technical point of contact for data center developers, colocation operators, and other target customers
- Collaborate closely with the commercial team to strategize on value propositions, target customers, offtake structures, and various power solutions
- Advise on solution discussions from proposal through to investment decision
- Develop conceptual designs for hybrid storage and generation projects, including site layouts, one-line diagrams, and scope plans
- Build techno-economic models that balance revenue, CAPEX, OPEX, and design constraints to influence investment decisions and offtake structures
Qualifications:
- 6+ years in application engineering, sales engineering, or solutions development for energy storage, turbines, gas generators, fuel cells, or UPS systems Behind-the-meter data center power experience is strongly preferred
- Hands-on with sizing and configuring BESS, or similar BTM technologies
- Deep experience supporting RFPs, customer presentations, or commercial negotiations
- Capable of developing or contributing to techno-economic models
- Comfortable with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or SKMBSc in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering
