About the role
Construction Superintendent | Winchester, VAG&E Partners is working with a well-established commercial General Contractor seeking an experienced Superintendent to join its Winchester field team. This is an opportunity to take ownership of project delivery, lead field teams, and work closely with clients and trade partners at a contractor known for quality construction and long-standing relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead daily jobsite operations, coordinating field employees, subcontractors, vendors, and deliveries. Manage construction sequencing, manpower, equipment, and materials to keep projects progressing. Develop weekly three-week look-ahead schedules and support updates to the overall project schedule. Maintain a strong safety culture, conduct weekly Toolbox Talks, and address jobsite hazards. Monitor workmanship against drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Maintain daily logs and communicate progress, delays, and potential issues to the Project Manager. Coordinate client and architect requests with Project Management, ensuring changes receive approval before work proceeds. Lead and develop field employees, setting clear expectations and providing performance feedback.
Experience Required:
Minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience in commercial construction. Strong understanding of construction sequencing, safety, and quality control. Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules. Proven ability to coordinate multiple trades and lead field teams. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to assigned jobsites. Working Hours &
Site Requirements:
Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, including a 30-minute lunch. Occasional overtime and Saturday work may be required. Approximately 80% of working time spent on active jobsites. Ability to navigate uneven terrain, work at heights, climb ladders and scaffolding, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
