Backend Quality Assurance Specialist – Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
Salary: $120,000 – $140,000 base + discretionary annual bonusE-Frontiers is partnering with a fast-growing, CFTC-regulated derivatives exchange and clearinghouse in Chicago to hire a Backend QA Specialist. You'll drive quality across the core Exchange, Clearing and Instrument management systems, extending the QA automation framework and building out comprehensive testing for high-performance trading infrastructure.
What you'll do:
  • Extend and maintain a Java-based QA automation framework
  • Design and build manual and automated test cases for high-performance exchange and clearing platforms
  • Rigorously test all interfaces, including FIX protocol, proprietary binary formats and file formats
  • Test admin and customer-facing interfaces using Playwright and manual approaches, covering functionality, data integrity, security compliance and performance
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to define and enforce rigorous quality standards
  • Monitor and report on system performance, data integrity and compliance
  • What you'll bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field 3+ years of QA / software testing experience, ideally in financial services
  • Strong proficiency in Java, Python, FIX and SQLHands-on experience with Cucumber, Playwright and JUnitExcellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with derivatives or financial markets is a strong plus
