About the role

Senior Software Engineer | Go, Python & Real-Time BiddingI’m recruiting for a growing AdTech company looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with deep hands-on experience building real-time programmatic bidding systems. This is not a general backend role where AdTech experience is simply a plus. They need someone who understands the architecture and mechanics behind RTB, SSPs, DSP integrations, ad exchanges and OpenRTB — and has actually built or operated these systems in production. You’ll join the core team responsible for a large-scale programmatic advertising platform processing high volumes of traffic across dozens of services. What you’ll work on: Architect and build real-time bidding and auction infrastructure Develop and scale SSP / DSP integrations and OpenRTB workflows Work across bid requests, responses, timeouts, floor pricing and deal mechanics Build high-throughput, latency-sensitive backend services Help migrate performance-critical systems from Python to GoOwn major backend initiatives from architecture through production Improve scalability, reliability and performance across the ad platform Mentor engineers and contribute to architectural direction What they’re looking for:7+ years of backend software engineering experience Strong production experience with GoStrong production experience with PythonDeep professional experience in AdTechHands-on experience building RTB platforms, SSPs, DSPs or ad exchanges Strong understanding of OpenRTB and programmatic auction mechanics Experience with high-scale distributed or latency-sensitive systems Ability to operate as a senior IC and hit the ground running Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, microservices and cloud infrastructure is valuable. GCP is a plus, but experience with any major cloud platform works. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced AdTech engineer who wants to own technically difficult infrastructure at real scale without the bureaucracy of a massive advertising platform.Remote/Optional NYC office access$170K–$185K base + equity If you’ve built real-time bidding infrastructure and know the SSP/DSP ecosystem from the inside, please apply!

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
